Frequently Asked Questions

Do I require a referral to see you?

You do not require a referral to see a specialist and can self-refer, however you will only be able to claim a Medicare rebate for your appointment fees if you have a valid GP referral (within 12 months) or non-GP specialist referral (within 3 months). We would also like to keep your GP updated on your health, so providing a GP referral helps us to keep your GP informed of your progress and treatment with us.

What should I bring on the day of my appointment?

  • A referral from your GP or other specialist

  • Medicare, DVA or pension cards

  • Details of your private health insurance

  • Any relevant scans (ultrasounds, CTs & MRIs) and blood tests

  • Lists of any medications you take (including vitamins, supplements, prescription medications and over-the-counter medications)

  • Any other relevant information that may be required during your appointment

What is the fee structure?

Please contact the reception staff to discuss our appointment fees. They will vary depending on whether you only need a consultation, or any clinic procedures and/or surgery. You will receive a Medicare rebate for a portion of the consultation fees, provided you are eligible and our reception staff should be able to assist you with this.

Can I use my private health fund?

Private health funds usually will not provide a rebate for your appointment costs or procedures performed in the clinic. If you require surgery, you may be able to use your private health fund to cover your hospital fees at a private hospital. Please bring your private health fund details to your appointment so we can discuss this further if needed.

What if I have to cancel my appointment?

We understand that sometimes you may not be able to attend your appointment for various reasons. Please provide us with 24 hours notice of an appointment cancellation. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, you may be required to pay a cancellation fee.

Do you offer Telehealth appointments?

We see all new patients face to face as you may require an examination, but we may be able to offer Telehealth services for follow-up appointments depending on the circumstances. Please chat to us about this at your initial appointment.
